Default A History of Jordan Hybrids

The Jordan Dub Zero was the first hybrid to release. Though there was no specific theme for the shoe, many speculate that the shoe was created to celebrate Tinker Hatfield’s work as all seven models on the shoes were designed by him.

Name: Jordan Dub Zero
First Released: 2005

Air Jordan 4 - Midsole/Outsole
Air Jordan 6 - Heel loop
Air Jordan 11 - Patent leather

Air Jordan 13 - Upper shape

Air Jordan 20 - Lasering on upper

Following the overwhelming success of the Jordan Dub Zero came the Jordan Spiz’ike. The Jordan Spiz’ike was a hybrid that featured elements of the shoes that Spike Lee helped promote through his work with Weiden + Kennedy and Nike. Spike and Mike had a number of commercials for Jordans 3-6, but some forget that Spike helped out on one commercial for the Air Jordan 9 while MJ was retired as well as with the Air Jordan 20.

Name: Jordan Spiz’ike

When you ask many Jordan heads what they like about their favorite model of Air Jordans, what the man did in the shoes usually comes up. The Jordan 6 Rings celebrates the 7 shoes that Michael Jordan wore in the NBA Finals en route to winning his six NBA Championships.

The Greatest Of All Time is having some of his greatest games of all time celebrated through the Jordan Sixty Plus. This shoe is a hybrid of the 4 different models of Air Jordans that MJ wore while throwing up 60 or more in a night. Heavy inspiration came from the Air Jordan 5, but remember, he was wearing those when he scored his career high of 69 points.
